I Remain PDP Member In Osun – Governorship Aspirant, Babayemi
A former gubernitorial aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP), Osun state, Omoba Dotun Babayemi has insisted that he is a member of PDP, stating that those who expelled him did not followed due process.
It would be recalled that the PDP in Otun Balogun Ward 2, Ayedaade Local Government Area of the state expelled Babayemi over allegations of anti-party activities leveled against him.
Reacting to the expulsion on Rave FM Osogbo on Wednesday, Babayemi said that he remains a valid member of PDP adding that those who expelled him did not followed due process of the party.
He described PDP as a party that follows Rule of Law stating that his expulsion didn’t follow the due process which he stated as: Giving of Notice to the offender and setting up of panels saying he didn’t see any of that.
Babayemi however said that those behind his expulsion are jesters describing their activities as Kangaroo thing that is of no significance.
“Absolutely I am a member of PDP, Group of Jesters got themselves together and decided at my Ward, Ward 2 in Ayedade local government that they wanted to take action
“We have to remember that from 2016 to 2022, there were two parallel lines in PDP, there were several court cases, there were two hundred and fifteen wards that were in dispute and the ward executives from those wards went to court, the ones that got validation that yes they were the right wards executives at that time were the people that actually went ahead with the Primaries.
“The people that at that time said that they were expelling me did not have the whole course to do so in furtherance of ensuring that we follow the law, PDP as a party which at the national level and everywhere is a party that follows the rule of law.
“There was a court injunction that said that no action should be taken regarding any suspensional expulsion and that still standing as of today.
“I can tell you affirmatively that the national working committee actually reviewed the expulsions and the suspensions that was propotedly carried out across the country.
“In my case it was step aside, so, as of today I am a valid member of PDP.
“It was few weeks after that an announcer was made that I have been expelled from the party, obviously it was referred to the national working committee and it was step aside, I am a member of the committee, if you look at what led to it our constitutions put the steps that you will go through to determine whether someone has gone foul of the law or not.
“One of it that you have to do is to face the panel, notice has to be given, and I didn’t got any notice, there was no panel that was set up, it was a kangaroo thing which is of no any significance.”
